About Us

Who We Are

Action Development Agency was established in 1999 and formally registered as a Non-Profit Organisation in 2001; primarily focusing on improving food security, access to clean water and sanitation, disaster relief, community development and women’s empowerment.

Action Development Agency predominantly serves vulnerable population groups (i.e., orphans, the elderly and child, youth, and female-headed household) and priority groups such as victims of gender-based violence, displaced children, youth, adolescence girls and young women.

Over the years, we have created value for the communities we serve through strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the private and public sector. We intentionally seek out partnerships with organizations that are aligned with our principles, values, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Organizational Philosophy

Similarly, through engagement with communities, our projects complement the national framework as well as the provincial development strategies that focus on socio-economic interventions. Recognizing that the nature and the extent of the challenges that we are combating are not static, we are continuously reconfiguring our objectives, processes, and outcomes so that we do more than secure food for the destitute in our communities. We provide sustainable solutions to relieve our people from the cycle of poverty. We are also at the forefront of disaster management programs when the need arises. Our experienced and compassionate teams are equipped to provide immediate social relief to affected areas.
