Objectives
To mobilise youth to be trained in skills development programs through MERSETA. This will increase the level of skilled youth within the communities we work in for effective implementation of sustainable programs.
Baseline
Given the level of vulnerability of majority of the youth, they are not able to afford tertiary education to further their studies. Through our partnership with MERSETA, ADA will ensure that the youth get access to critical skills training through learnerships and internship programs. This will increase the amount of skilled and job ready youth.
Justification
ADA will aggressively address the issue of youth unemployment. In assisting MERSETA to implement its strategy, ADA has developed training courses of technical skills through its donors and partners. We serve as a training provider in providing skills development trainings. Since majority of our programs are focused on the most disadvantaged communities, part of the our community development strategy will be to make sure that local youth are capitated. The youth will also be the implementers of our programs, thus creating a job opportunities for them and reducing a high influx of youth going into central cities to look for employment opportunities.
